FAME has announced the release of FAME version 6.8 which adds many new features including energy regression analysis and GIS mapping with simple to use drag and drop abilities.
Steve Cripps, FAME President explains: “We recognized that our clients have been looking for these features to complement their Facility Management tool set and we are happy to say we have provided them in a very intuitive web based solution extending the capabilities of our FAME solution."
Utility Avoidance Modelling (Weather Normalization / Regression Analysis)
The FAME E&S Module pulls weather data from weather stations across Canada and United States and automatically normalizes utility consumption with daily weather data, such as heating degree days (HDD) and cooling degree days (CDD). Using Linear Regression Analysis, FAME then calculates either an automatic base line or user defined base line allowing clients to compare actual versus projected utility consumptions and costs.
Consumption and cost avoidance reports can be easily generated to demonstrate either savings or increases in utility usage over time, independent of weather conditions from one year to the next. Now, managers can report easily and with confidence exactly how much money was saved on energy management projects and demonstrate reliable return on investments.
Built-in GIS Mapping for Facilities and Assets
A Geographic Information System (also referred to as Geographical Information Science or Geospatial Information Studies) is a system designed to capture, store, manipulate, analyze, manage, and present all types of geographically referenced data. Therefore, in a general sense, the term describes an information system that integrates, stores, edits, analyzes, shares and displays geographic information for informing decision making.
The FAME software platform now comes standard with built-in GIS mapping and functionality. Based on either an address or longitudinal / latitudinal coordinates facilities and/or assets can be automatically mapped and viewed in various formats. Distances and areas can automatically be calculated, icons created and managed, map views and assets can be layered, etc. Clients can use the GIS capabilities to locate/place vertical assets and manage/define linear assets.
