UTILITY AVOIDANCE MODELLING (Weather Normalization)
The FAME E&S Module pulls weather data from weather stations across Canada and United States and automatically normalizes utility consumption with daily weather data, such as heating degree days (HDD) and cooling degree days (CDD).
Using Linear Regression Analysis, FAME then calculates either an automatic base line or user defined base line allowing you to compare actual versus projected utility consumptions and costs. Consumption and cost avoidance reports can be easily generated to demonstrate either savings or increases in utility usage over time, independent of weather conditions from one year to the next.
Now, managers can report easily and with confidence exactly how much money was saved on energy management projects and demonstrate reliable return on investments.
FAME has been selected by the British Columbia Ministry of Citizen Services as a pre-qualified utility software vendor offering British Columbia Public Sector Organizations (PSOs) and Local Government Agencies the best value in utility data management services for both performance and pricing.
In 2007, the government of British Columbia set an ambitious goal to reduce the province’s greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by at least 33 per cent below current levels by 2020. To demonstrate leadership in support of this goal, the government also committed to make its own operations “carbon neutral” beginning with 2010. The commitment to carbon neutrality established by the Greenhouse Gas Target Reductions Act (GGRTA) applies to all provincial Public Service Organizations (PSOs) which include crown corporations, health authorities, boards of education, and post-secondary institutions. In addition, Local Governments from across BC have joined with the Province and the Union of BC Municipalities to voluntarily pledge to become carbon neutral beginning in 2012. Specifically, each agency is required to measure and report on its GHG emissions via the BC SMARTTool along with actions, plans, and offsets.
Now, with FAME, British Columbia PSO’s and Local Governments can automatically report on Provincial carbon footprint mandates while proactively managing energy consumption. Click here to find out more or contact FAME today.
